With hundreds of stores spread across the UK and a prominent online presence, the Currys and PC World brands have become true household names. With a commitment to providing quality electrical goods, these well-established and reputable companies were brought together under the same business umbrella in 1993.
For fast access to a vast range of equipment and technology, such as kitchen appliances, computers, printers and ancillary products, you can’t go wrong with these retail giants.
Currys/PCWorld asked lilHermit to create the prototype of their new Order & Collect system. This new system is being trialled in their groundbreaking, brand new concept Currys & PC World 2-in-1 superstore in Aylesbury.
The system comprises of a ‘front of house’ Android tablet and 1 or more ‘back of house’ devices, linked in a group configuration. On entering the store, the customer is requested to input their reservation or order number into the ‘front of house’ device, which immediately informs of their position in the service queue; the order information is simultaneously sent directly to the linked device managed by the shop staff, who can then retrieve and hand over the order item(s), providing a fast and smooth transition from online ordering to physical collection.
